Hipfest VI: Back for more comps! - Day Seven

Last hotel move, and it's a good one, going from Plaza to Encore.  As I mentioned back on Day One, I got a status match with Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, and one of the benefits was two comped nights at Wynn, which the clerk upgraded me to an Encore room.  With the shuffling around of scheduling, it also eliminated any play requirements we had for the rest of the trip (it was all "fun play").

Breakfast this morning was the leftover coconut cake from Andiamo.  It really wasn't "leftover", we got them to go since we had to blow out our comps.  It was crazy good!

Cake for breakfast?  Yes, please!

We checked out of Plaza.  I didn't bother asking my host to take off the Hash House room change and I paid for it with comps, which was quite the task.  They couldn't apply my comps at the front desk at check out, I had to go to the host desk and they'd apply the comp.  And then the host thought I needed the comp to pay for a meal right then and issued me a comp, so he had to cancel that and apply it to my folio.  I'm guessing everything worked out. . .

Leaving Plaza, we headed down to Emerald Island, which we refer to as our "Smoky Little Gem".  It's small and smoky, but we can play some full-pay video poker down to pennies!  It's crazy that some of their quarter machines have worse paytables than their penny machines, but they are known as the Penny Casino.

We also went because there's the Las Vegas Advisor "Wheel of Cash" coupon, where you earn 100 club points and get a chance to spin the wheel for up to $100 (which Kip won last year!).

There was no such luck this year, I hit for $10, and we discovered we got another wheel spin at like 1,500 points, which I got $20.  I also was picked for a random promotion and won another $30.

Around 3:00 PM, we stopped for lunch.  The LVA book also has a two-for-one entree, but they have decent specials (which aren't valid for the coupon). The filet mignon teriyaki stir fry was quite tasty.  The two meals we've had there have been good and it's a pretty good deal.

We were playing 1c five-line, 30 credit each line, Not-So-Ugly Deuces at $1.50 a spin.  So even at pennies, we were still betting over single line quarters (although spreading out the variance).  Even so, we were down a couple of hundred each.  Then I got this:

What? A dealt dirty royal? Thank you!

That was nice, some recovery, but we were still down.  Fifteen minutes later. . .

BOOM!

Dealt deuces!  A nice $300 hit and now we're up!  We also earned enough points for a gift giveaway.  I forget what I got, but it was something for my daughter.

We headed to Encore to check in, getting there around 5:35.  We then hustled across the street to El Segundo Sol to check "Loco Hour" before it ended at 6:30.

Waiting for food and drink!

Margarita!

Chips and salsa!

A tiny steak taco!

This is one of our "hidden gems" and we try to come here on every trip.  With nice drinks and cheap apps, it's a solid stop.

Now it's back to Encore and actually settle in.

The suite!

More of the suite!

And the bathroom is crazy huge.  Probably not as large as the accessible bathroom at Plaza, but there were more amenities for sure.

Sinks, tub, and shower!

After getting settled in, we headed "across the street" to Resorts World.  I wanted to check out Eight Cigar Lounge and Here Kitty Kitty.

Of course I had to take a photo of the ball thingie.

We went by Eight Cigar Lounge, it was packed.  Kip's not a smoker, so I decided not to subject her to that.  It took us a while to find Here Kitty Kitty (it's a speakeasy), but once we did, it was really nice.

They had quite the cocktail selection (a bit pricey) and I'm sure they could mix anything, but I picked something off the menu.

The Shinto!  Love the ice pattern!

Kip enjoying her Lucky 13!

We walked around a bit in the casino, didn't find anything we really wanted to play, so we headed back to the room for snacks and a nightcap.

Good thing we saved that bread from Andiamo!
